About the PI
Prof. Ikue Mori is the Distinguished Investigatat the Chinese Institute fBrain Research, Beijing (CIBR). She is renowned fher pioneering work in deciphering the molecular, cellular neural circuit mechanisms of thermotaxis behaviin C. elegans. She was the Founding Directof the Neuroscience Institute a Professof Molecular Neurobiology at the Graduate School of Science, Nagoya University, Japan. Her distinguished career has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Tokizane Award in 2013, the most prestigious neuroscience award in Japan, the Medal of Honwith Purple Ribbon in 2017 from the Japanese government.
Position: Postdoctoral Researcher
Job Description:
To lead an independent research project under the guidance of Prof. Mori, focusing on the neuronal basis underlying behaviin C. elegans.
Responsibilities:
1. Design execute research projects addressing fundamental questions in neurobiology.
2. Utilize develop techniques in molecular genetics, microscopy, behavioral analysis.
3. Analyze data, prepare manuscripts fpublication in international journals, present findings at scientific conferences.
4. Contribute to lab management provide guidance to junilab members.
Qualifications:
1. A (recent) Ph.D. expected soon in Neuroscience, Genetics, Molecular Biology, a related field.
2. A strong background in one more of the following: molecular biology, live-cell imaging, neurogenetics, C. elegans research.
3. Highly motivated, independent, creative, with a strong passion fscientific discovery.
4. A proven record of research achievement, as evidenced by first-authpublication(s) strong pre-prints.
5. Excellent communication skills the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
6. Proficiency in English (scientific writing verbal communication).
